Critique Panel Requirements

The following are the Society approved Critique Judge Requirements. All panels are set up by the Registrar’s Committee.

1. Critique Judges requirements for Generation 0 and Generation 1:

  • A. Require three critiques performed by three different judges.
    a. Require that at least one critique be performed by an AKC licensed Saluki Breeder judge.
    b. Require that at least one critique be performed by a performance Saluki Breeder with extensive performance experience (lure coursing or OFC coursing) or Saluki Breeder judge of Open Field or Lure Coursing.
    c. The remaining critique shall be performed by a long-term Saluki breeder or owner.

2. Critique Judges requirements for Generation 2 and Generation 3:

  • A. Require three critiques performed by three different judges.
    a. Require that at least one critique be performed by an AKC judge licensed to judge Salukis.
    b. Require that at least one critique be performed by a performance judge licensed to judge Salukis (lure coursing or OFC coursing).
    c. The remaining critique shall be performed by a long-term Saluki breeder or owner.

It is possible that all three judges may fulfill all three requirements, i.e., each is a long-term Saluki breeder in addition to being licensed by the AKC to judge Salukis and also licensed to judge Salukis at performance events. At least one representative from each of the three categories (Conformation, performance coursing events, and long-term Saluki breeder) is required for every Saluki critiqued.

For the purposes of an Export Pedigree a Gen 1 Saluki may be critiqued by a panel of the Registrar’s committee choosing at 12 weeks. Otherwise, it is recommended Gen 1 puppies be critiqued at one year.

All Critique Panels are assembled by the Registrar’s committee.
